The work shown here spans a tattooing career of around 30 years, from custom pieces and colour work through to the cremation ashes tattoos that have become the focus of the studio over the last 20. It is only a small selection. A great deal of the most meaningful work, the memorial pieces in particular, is private, made quietly for people who came to mark the loss of someone or something they loved, and never intended for a gallery.
What you can see across these pieces is the range built up over a long career: fine line and lettering, black and grey, bold colour, portraiture, and the kind of detailed custom work that takes a full day in the chair. That breadth matters for memorial work too, because no two tributes are ever the same. A handwriting piece taken from a signed card asks for something quite different from a pet portrait, or a small private symbol, or a name woven into a larger design, and decades of varied tattooing is what makes any of those possible.

Bubblegum Ink ® is a private, appointment only studio in Sandbach, Cheshire, and most of what happens here now is memorial work: tattoos made with a small amount of a loved one’s cremated ashes, prepared carefully and worked into the ink itself. It is a specialism built over around two decades, and it is what most people travel to the studio for, from across the UK and beyond.
